Configuring masks The masks feature allows you to make iCatcher ignore motion that occurs in specific areas in the camera's field of view. This feature is very useful if you have an area that is likely to generate a lot of unimportant motion, such as a window looking out on to a road, or an area you do not wish to monitor or record for privacy reasons. The masks window is accessible by pressing the theatrical mask button on the video window, or right clicking on the feed in the tree and selecting Masks, which will now display the current image with all the masks overlaid. For each mask, you can drag it to the required position and size, and set the style to invisible, a transparent mesh or a solid block of colour. If you want invisible masks but to still be able to see where they are, you can add a border around all the masks at a set width and colour. Please note that you may still get the crosshairs appearing in a masked area if there is motion occurring around it To update the image shown behind the mask shapes, you can press the "Update image" button. Intelligent masksIntelligent masks are a feature of the ICE motion detection system, and allows full motion detection and tracking of objects passing through a masked area, but will ignore any motion that appears inside the area unless it moves into the non masked area. If ICE detection is not enabled on this feed, then this option is not available |
