our office console installation In order to document the implementation of a CCTV system using a PC network and iCatcher software, we are going to detail the installation at our Fareham Offices. The heart of the system is a PC running iCatcher Console, in our case this is currently an elderly PII350 with a 60 GB IDE hard disk for historical storage. The console PC runs Windows 2000 in dual monitor mode, allowing greater screen area for console to display the various cameras we have. The screenshot to the right displays our usual configuration, with five cameras being monitored at a smaller resolution on the left hand monitor, together with the main menu. The monitor to the right displays a full screen shot from the car park camera. Since this picture has taken, our camera coverage has increased, and consequently the console is now recording from as many as 18 cameras simultaneously. See below for information on accessing the full range of feeds our console is monitoring. To discover more about the system please click on one of the options below:
The links above provide full details on the cameras in use, their location and connection back to the console. If you would like to implement this technology then please explore the rest of this site, if you still have unanswered questions then please contact us. Please note the "All iCode Feeds" link redirects to a page showing the full list of feeds that have been set as publicly available. The list presented may not include all feeds being monitored by our iCatcher Console. The screenshot shows our office iCatcher Console. At the time, this was a PII-350Mhz/Windows 2000 machine running 6 cameras over 14 days on 2 monitors. It has since been upgraded to a P4-3.2GHz/HT with 3 monitors, running as many as 22 cameras, over 21 days. |
