Video Capture Cards and USB devices

Analgoue video capture with iCatcher

The iCatcher Digital CCTV System is designed to integrate different types of video source without compromise. As such, it maintains compatibility with PCI/PCI Express video capture cards and USB video capture devices by implementing the Microsoft WDM (Windows Driver Model) standard for video capture sources.

For multi-camera installations that require capture cards, we recommend the Euresys Picolo range which provide between 4 and 16 inputs per card, at a budget suited to the size of installation.

A number of USB devices are available which are compatible with iCatcher, however for serious CCTV installations we don't recommend USB devices for long term use. Their hardware and drivers are designed for short-term and are generally not guaranteed for continuous operation.

Most USB webcams will be compatible if they have a WDM-compliant driver.
