Axis Network IP Camera The iCatcher Digital CCTV System has been developed to take advantage of the latest in CCTV technology, IP video cameras and video servers. Network Video devices offer the advantage of clear images transferred digitally over exisiting network infrastructure, as well as differing compression technologies for efficient video storage.

The latest version of iCatcher Console features support for full frame rate video via RTSP-enabled H.264 network video sources, with audio (where available) encoded in industry standard G.711 format.

Axis Network Video Encoder The compatibility chart shows which cameras will operate with iCatcher and their respect transfer and encoding mechanisms.

Almost all cameras will work with iCatcher, as it supports the industry standard MotionJPEG encoding, as well as accepting invididually fetched camera frames.

In addition, analogue cameras can be "converted" to IP devices with the use of video servers (sometimes known as video encoders), which are also supported by the iCatcher software.
