Infra-Red Night Vision Illumination

Many installations will require some form of night illumination. This is best achieve using a modern infra-red illuminator. These utilise arrays of long-life red LEDs. These LEDs give off a strong infra-red glow as a side-effect. Visibly, these show as a dull red glow, but when used in conjunction with infra-red sensitive cameras, the LEDs light up a large area, immediately eliminating the need for bright visible light sources.

Some cameras have a built-in illuminator that runs from the same 12V supply as the camera. This cuts down on the cable runs to the cameras, and provides an economical night vision system.
